What is the Cultural Arts Fest and why should youth enter?

It’s a creative explosion where Washburn County 4-H youth (grades K-13) can shine in everything from art and crafts to music, drama, photography, poetry and even demonstrations. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or just want to try something new, this is your chance to wow a friendly crowd of 4-H families with a skit, song, dance, puppet show – you name it! Plus, you’ll get awesome feedback from a local content expert to help you polish your acts or items before the county fair. Non-4-Hers can even team up with a 4-H member for a group performance. So, why join the fun? It’s a fantastic way to boost your confidence, get ready for competition, and maybe even discover a hidden talent! Grab your friends, family, or club and let your creativity run wild!

4-H Foods & Clothing Revue Information

Registration: wi.4honline.com (sign in, click events)

Registration Deadline: March 15, 2025

What is the Foods Revue?

The Foods Revue gives participants the opportunity for youth to showcase a food related activity or experiment and discuss the results; and to show off their creative table setting skills (if you’ve ever dreamed of owning or designing a restaurant, this event is for you!). There are two ways to participate.

1. Action Exhibit: Select food activity or experiment and set up as an action exhibit

2. Table Setting: Display a complete place setting of a meal or snack, displaying one prepared food and a menu. Themes are encouraged!

What is the Clothing Revue?

Clothing Revue participants get the opportunity to show the clothing they have made, upcycled, or purchased. Check the Washburn County Fair Premium Book for details (pages 64 for Cloverbuds who enter either contest, page 85 for Foods Revue, or page 88 for Clothing Revue). Youth will wear their outfit and accessories to show to a judge. Youth will write a description about their outfit, which will be read while they showcase (model) the outfit for a judge and audience. Youth will then talk about their outfit with a judge.

Note: Washburn County Fair allows purchased clothing as an entry. Go shopping for a new outfit! Then keep your receipts, be prepared to tell the judge why you bought it, how you accessorized it, where you intend to wear the outfit, etc. It’s that easy!
